Another winter storm set to hit Atlantic Canada

Someone forgot to tell Atlantic Canada it's spring.

More than 27,000 customers were without power in New Brunswick Monday afternoon, after a winter storm continued to pound the eastern provinces, less than a week after a blizzard dumped 30 cm of snow in the region.

In Nova Scotia, nearly 7,000 were in the dark because of high winds and freezing rain.

Outages were reported all across Prince Edward Island as well.

In Newfoundland, the RCMP had closed a large section of the Trans-Canada Highway in the southern part of the province due to whiteout conditions, but Newfoundland Power reported no outages.

Environment Canada's winter storm warnings remained in place for the region Monday, predicting continued blowing snow, ice pellets and freezing rain. Northern Quebec and northern Ontario were also expected to see heavy snowfall and freezing rain

?Matthews is strategically located on I-55 between St. Louis and Memphis and offers drivers a hassle-free place to stop and have work done on their trucks without facing the heavier traffic near the larger cities on that corridor,? said Clint Schrock, director of on-highway operations.

?We plan to continue our expansion across the U.S., making our services, products, and information available in more locations,? he added.

Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Goodyear Tire & Rubber. With this new addition, Wingfoot has 37 on-highway Truck Care Centers operating in 15 states.
