Raising Truck Driver Pay

Truck Driver Pay Raise Truck Driver Pay Raise

As of January 13th, 2011 the average pay for company truck drivers was reported to be $53,000 per year.  In reality, we know that this is totally false.  Also in reality, we know that average truck driver salaries for job postings nationwide are 24% lower than average salaries for all job postings. It is not uncommon to hear veteran truck drivers discuss how they made more money twenty years ago, compared to their income today.

Trucking executives have expressed concerns over the CSA creating a serious truck driver shortage and many analysts predict that the Comprehensive Safety Analysis will finally force trucking companies to raise truck driver pay.  Will the CSA ultimately create a pay increase for truck drivers?  Are drivers experiencing the roadside inspections and other reported consequences from the CSA implementation?

Todd Dills, Senior Editor for Truckers News Magazine, was our guest on Truth About Trucking “LIVE” and discussed the January, 2011 issue which examined the CSA, the truck driver shortage and the potential for a wage increase for truck drivers.

Is the potential of a driver pay increase proving to be real or is it trucking as usual?   Hear the conversation from:   Raising Truck Driver Wages Through the CSA on Blog Talk Radio:
